The legislature is currently looking at expanding the Real Estate Transfer Tax to include refinancing activity. That's right, the proposal is to tax homeowners and businesspeople, many of whom refinance in order to stay in their home or keep their business. No details have been made public, but NHAR knows discussions are taking place to pass a mortgage tax. We need your help to stop the mortgage tax.

You are encouraged to use the accompanying talking points (below), and tell them that expansion of the Real Estate Transfer Tax will hurt homeowners.
